Hatteras Island Family Medicine will provide comprehensive family medical care to Hatteras Island.   We will strive to make health care affordable and easily accessible by not becoming a part of the current managed care structure.   Due to the increased overhead and restraints placed on medical providers by insurance companies, this practice will use a reduced rate fee for service model rather than accepting insurance. The end result is the delivery of quality healthcare at a price that anyone can afford.  A special interest of this practice is health promotion and women’s health.

Hatteras Island Family Medicine is locally owned and operated by Alexis G. Hodges RN, FNP-C.  Nurse practitioners deliver high-quality health care services in a manner very similar to physicians.  The primary focus however is on health promotion, disease prevention as well as health education and counseling.  With the rising costs of health care, this practice will be implementing a reduced fee for service only.  This means that when a patient is seen they will be expected to pay a reduced rate at the time of service.  The patient will then be given the necessary paperwork to file with the insurance provider for reimbursement if applicable.
